Who We Are
 
Association of Women Living with HIV and AIDS in Nigeria (formerly Association of Positive Women in Nigeria) is an umbrella body of support groups of Women Living With HIV and AIDS in Nigeria.The organisation collaborates with Network of People Living With HIV in Nigeria (NEPWHAN) and other CSOs, NGOs, Government and development partners. ASWHAN  presently has 188 support groups registered under it across Nigeria. The group was established in 2004 after the National HIV and AIDS summit in Nigeria. (Abuja 2004). ASWHAN was an aftermath of a protest by HIV positive women for the reduction in the price of ARV and for free Anti-Retroviral Therapy for children living with HIV and AIDS in Nigeria. The organization presently has 188 support groups registered with it across Nigeria. ASWHAN is registered with Corporate Affairs Commission (C.A.C.) with registration Number RC: 21747.
